About The Position

The Mine Maintenance Mechanic B position at Solvay involves providing preventative and repair maintenance support to surface facilities, ensuring safe and continuous operation. The role is part of a larger maintenance department focused on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. The technician will analyze mechanical problems, assist in maintenance tasks, and train others, contributing to the transformation journey of Solvay.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 2 years associates degree in Industrial Maintenance is preferred.
• 5 years of applicable industrial experience required for grade B classification.
• Satisfactory completion of B classification; ARC weld in all positions with mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron and able to pass a flat welding test, gas weld with mild steel and brass.
• Ability to read and write for understanding operator log books, work orders, shop drawings, equipment specifications and directions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze mechanical and/or operational problems with assigned surface facilities equipment.
