About The Position

The Mine Trainer at Montana Resources, LLC is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for mine employees, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to operate safely and efficiently. This role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and effective communication, aiming to foster a culture of safety and competence in heavy equipment operation.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience in the mining industry
  • 3-5 years of experience in mine training
  • Knowledge of 793 C/F series haul trucks, Cat 7495 electric shovels, 16 M3 motor graders, D8 and D10 dozers, Atlas Copco Pit viper 271 drills, and Cat 994 loaders
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others
  • Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example
  • Experience working in a continuous improvement culture
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Proven safe work record
  • Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to be self-directed, team-oriented, and work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders and lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of training programs
  • Coordinate with mine leadership to ensure employees have the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitude for safe and efficient task performance
  • Provide one-on-one and group training for all mine heavy equipment
  • Assess employee knowledge and readiness, providing customized training as needed
  • Create accurate training records in accordance with MSHA regulations
  • Develop training courses based on site needs
  • Facilitate new miner, experienced miner, hazard, site, and task-specific field training courses
  • Adjust training techniques based on learning styles to optimize trainee learning and retention
  • Coordinate and handle in-field training with developed modules
  • Provide follow-up on training by issuing evaluations and maintaining frequent contact with supervision, conducting on-the-job training
