Cargill is seeking a Mining Engineer Co-op to join our global team of 155,000 employees dedicated to building a stronger, more sustainable future. This position is designed for students pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering or related fields, providing them with real-world experience in a dynamic and fast-paced underground mining environment. The co-op will be based in either Lansing, NY or Cleveland, OH, where they will work closely with production and maintenance teams, project teams, and contractors on critical initiatives and projects. The role aims to expose individuals to both the technical and management aspects of engineering, fostering their interest in long-term career aspirations within the mining industry. As a Mining Engineer Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience in Operations Leadership and/or Maintenance & Reliability Engineering. You will learn mining techniques such as surveying, mapping, and mineral processing, while also understanding the importance of safety best practices in the mining environment. The co-op will involve direct supervision of operators and production activities, participation in daily production management meetings, and engagement in process optimization and equipment reliability. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on various engineering projects, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions.
