The Mining Engineer position at Tetra Tech involves providing technical expertise in mining engineering, project planning, and management, specifically focusing on mining and abandoned mine reclamation projects related to mine subsidence control.   • Work with clients, developers, stakeholders, and government officials to facilitate mining and abandoned mine reclamation projects.
  • Oversee and support the preparation and review of project designs for mining and reclamation projects.
  • Conduct site investigations and assessments related to mine subsidence and control.
  • Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and permit applications for projects.
  • Mentor new and inexperienced staff, demonstrating best practices in the office and field.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering required.
  • 15 or more years of experience in mining and/or abandoned mine reclamation projects.
  • Experience with design or review of designs for AML reclamation sites.
  • Knowledge of AML Laws and familiarity with regulatory agencies.
  • Exceptional communication skills for client relations and report development.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for report and proposal preparation.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in Pennsylvania is required.
  • Registration as a professional engineer in other Appalachian states is a plus.
  • Experience with erosion and sediment control and stormwater design.
  • Experience working for state and/or governmental agencies.
