Mining Haul Truck Driver (Teamster Class)

About the position

The position of Teamster involves operating rigid frame or articulated dump trucks safely and efficiently to meet production quotas in a quarry or mining environment. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and company policies while performing tasks as directed by the lead heavy equipment operator, Foreman, or Project Manager. The company provides training for those without prior experience in operating heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Operate rigid frame or articulated dump trucks safely and efficiently.
• Perform work as directed by the lead heavy equipment operator.
• Complete tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently according to the work and training plan.
• Learn and understand quarry operations and participate safely.
• Utilize and train others on company hand signals.
• Operate and maintain a company-issued radio.
• Wear mandated Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
• Document 'lessons learned' and share with other employees.
• Report and correct unsafe working conditions.
• Assist with interviewing and testing new employees as required.
• Make recommendations for process improvements.
• Assist in pipe laying operation.
• Inspect all equipment for breakdowns daily.
• Maintain all tools, repairing or replacing as required.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and mechanical repairs as necessary.

Requirements

• Able to learn and understand quarry operations.
• Able to efficiently operate large material handling equipment in a mine setting.
• Able to operate and maintain a company-issued radio.
• Must use professional language consistent with company policy.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.

• HAZCOM Certification

• First Aid/CPR Certification
• One year of experience working in a MSHA regulated mining facility.
