About the position

As a Public Health Project Coordinator with Ampact, you will play a vital role in addressing urgent public health needs while gaining invaluable experience in the field. This position is part of the Public Health Corps, a collaborative initiative with the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, aimed at enhancing public health capacity and responsiveness to community needs. Your work will directly contribute to the health and wellness of communities across Minnesota, making a significant impact during a critical time for public health. In this role, you will engage in various activities that support public health initiatives. You will facilitate research, data collection, and survey administration, ensuring that the information gathered is used effectively to inform public health strategies. Engaging with community members through focus groups and public health conversations will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, allowing you to gather insights and foster dialogue around health and racial equity initiatives. Additionally, you will support public health education campaigns, helping to disseminate important health information to the community. Your participation in ongoing training and professional development will enhance your skills and knowledge in public health, preparing you for future career opportunities. As a Public Health Corps ambassador, you will represent the program and its mission, further extending your impact within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Help facilitate research, data collection, and survey administration.

Requirements

  • Dependable with a history of good attendance.
  • Ability to manage projects effectively.
  • Capable of setting a pace and maintaining a service schedule based on agreed hours commitment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication, databases, and videoconferencing.
  • Fluent in English.
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Able to successfully complete a background check.
