About the position
The Washington Nationals are seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach for their affiliate teams for the 2025 season. This role involves the creation and implementation of the Minor League Strength and Conditioning Program during Spring Training and throughout the minor league season. The coach will be responsible for overseeing player training, data collection, and communication with various departments regarding player assessments.
Responsibilities
- Implementation of the organization's strength and conditioning program.
- Supervising the Nationals Strength & Conditioning program at the assigned affiliate during the 2025 championship season.
- Collection, organization, and dissemination of workload data collected both in-game and during practice.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on players' training data and progress.
- Communication between departments regarding player assessments and evaluations.
- Assisting with nutritional needs for the assigned affiliate.
- Contacting players and assisting with their off-season programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Certification through the NSCA (CSCS).
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Vehicle and laptop computer.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Experience using sport science devices such as 1080 Motion Devices, Vald Ecosystem, GymAware, etc.
- 2 years of strength and conditioning experience (baseball experience preferred).
- Bilingual (Spanish).
- Willingness to learn and continue education within and beyond the Strength and Conditioning field.
