About the position

The Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of BAS and Power Monitoring Systems (PMS) in a facility located in Baghdad, Iraq. This role requires ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards while managing staff resources and addressing mission requirements. The technician acts as the contractor's representative, ensuring all task order requirements are met and resolving any issues related to BAS and PMS operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all operations.
  • Comply with Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Operate and maintain BAS and PMS according to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Act as the Contractor's representative to meet BAS and PMS task order requirements.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources based on changing needs.
  • Identify problem areas and respond to mission requirements.
  • Plan and manage projects effectively.
  • Control resources and monitor staff proficiency and qualifications.
  • Coordinate the flow of information between O&M staff and USG representatives.
  • Resolve all BAS and PMS related issues.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years' experience in the operation and maintenance of building automation systems.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with Siemens or Honeywell BAS systems.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a large, modern commercial or USG facility, domestic or overseas.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of BAS and PMS operations and maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and manage staff effectively.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous international experience (2 years or more).
  • Work experience in harsh environmental and political conditions (2 years or more).
  • Experience working in a developing country with limited infrastructure (2 years or more).
