About the position

The Project Logistics and Property Manager will oversee the movement, distribution, and storage of materials and equipment at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with safety policies and managing property effectively within the MISS program, which supports the U.S. Department of State's operations in Iraq. The position is contingent on contract award and requires a strong focus on property management and logistics in a challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all operations.
  • Comply with Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Manage, monitor, and track property based on site location, type, and usage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and update property records.
  • Act as the principal property management representative for the contractor.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
  • Inspect property for compliance with safety policies.
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
  • Identify problem areas and respond to mission requirements.
  • Plan and manage projects, controlling resources and monitoring staff proficiency.
  • Resolve property issues.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in property and logistics management.
  • Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one prior to hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Public Administration, or similar discipline, or 10 years of direct experience in property and logistics management in lieu of formal education.
  • Effective communication skills (written/verbal) with problem resolution abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate level certification from a reputable organization (e.g., CPPA from NPMA).
  • Relevant overseas property management experience.
  • Previous international experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Experience working within government contracts.
