About the position

The Project Logistics and Property Manager will oversee the movement, distribution, and storage of materials and equipment at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. This role serves as a technical advisor on property management issues and is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards while managing property staff and resources effectively. The position is contingent on contract award and requires a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all operations.
  • Comply with Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Provide necessary information and materials for documentation purposes.
  • Manage, monitor, and track property based on site location, type, and usage.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all property.
  • Update property records regularly.
  • Act as the principal property management representative for the contractor.
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.
  • Manage property staff effectively.
  • Inspect property for compliance with safety policies.
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
  • Identify problem areas and respond to mission requirements.
  • Plan and manage projects efficiently.
  • Control resources and monitor staff proficiency and qualifications.
  • Resolve property issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Valid US Passport with at least one year of validity remaining.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance.
  • Effective communication skills (written/verbal) with strong problem resolution abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, Public Administration, or similar discipline, or ten years of direct experience in property and logistics management.
  • Five years of property and logistics management experience compatible with program requirements.
  • Intermediate level certification from a reputable organization (e.g., CPPA from NPMA).
  • Relevant overseas property management experience.
  • Previous international experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Experience working within government contracts.
