About the position

The Missile Defense Acquisition Program Manager at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is responsible for providing on-site support to the government for Department of Defense (DoD) Missile Defense systems. This role involves evaluating issues and providing recommendations at the Senior Executive Service (SES) level, supporting acquisition oversight and portfolio management activities, and developing documentation for senior department executives. The position requires a deep understanding of DoD system acquisition processes and missile defense policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support to the government for DoD Missile Defense systems.
  • Evaluate issues and provide recommendations at the SES level on the Missile Defense portfolio.
  • Support SSIPM acquisition oversight and portfolio management activities.
  • Develop issue papers and presentations for senior department executives.
  • Review and draft congressional testimony, briefings, and reports.
  • Review acquisition documents, policy, and briefings; provide staff support to working groups.
  • Prepare read aheads and talking points.
  • Support program reviews and develop recommendations.
  • Support GAO reviews and develop responses.
  • Perform FOIA and security reviews, interface with industry.
  • Participate in reviews, studies, and analysis of alternatives.
  • Coordinate initiatives across external offices and agencies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DoD acquisition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Missile Defense programs or Major defense acquisition programs.
  • Higher Headquarters experience working directly with SES and General officers.
  • Pentagon experience.
