About the position

The position involves preparing and testing fleet return and special purpose missiles for tactical readiness. This includes conducting final acceptance tests, troubleshooting, and performing operational checkouts of missile systems and components. The role requires performing inspections, quality assurance, and maintenance operations on Fleet Ballistic Missile systems and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare new, fleet return, and special purpose missiles for tactical readiness.
  • Conduct final acceptance tests and troubleshoot missile systems and components.
  • Perform operational checkout of systems, subsystems, and components.
  • Assist in acceptance testing and operational checkout of electronic systems on missiles.
  • Set up and interconnect test equipment for checkouts.
  • Operate test consoles and instruments during systems and component tests.
  • Record test data and assist in diagnosing malfunctioning parts.
  • Perform adjustments, synchronizations, modifications, and repairs as required.
  • Inspect assembly, disassembly, modification, and repair of test consoles and support equipment.
  • Prepare and process paperwork for acceptable parts and tests.
  • Evaluate test data and recommend improvements for quality assurance.
  • Monitor production and test activities continuously.
  • Devise specialized test apparatus as required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA degree in electronics or equivalent knowledge of electronics theory.
  • Familiarity with inspection practices and operational test methods for missiles.
  • General knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and missile structures.
  • Ability to use measuring and inspection instruments and tools effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior FBM Missile processing experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic equipment and systems.
  • Experience testing and repairing electrical and electronic cable assemblies.
  • Experience with RF communication systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
