About the position

The Missile Systems Analyst position at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) involves analyzing global missile developments and providing assessments to various defense and intelligence audiences. The role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including the Intelligence Community and Defense Department, to deliver timely and accurate insights on adversary missile programs and related technologies. The analyst will also guide less experienced staff and contribute to multi-functional teams, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of missile-related threats and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, characterize, and assess global missile developments and procurement trends.
  • Provide timely and accurate assessments of adversary missile programs and strategic threats.
  • Contribute to Defense Intelligence Enterprise deliverables, including foundational assessments and technical briefings.
  • Collaborate with the Intelligence Community, Defense Department, national labs, and academia on missile-related issues.
  • Guide and review the work of less experienced staff and contribute to multi-functional analytic teams.
  • Articulate official government analytic positions during customer engagements.

Requirements

  • BS or BA degree with tangible intelligence analysis experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with intelligence analysis and multi-INT databases.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of missile programs, trends, and technologies.
  • Practical understanding of technical requirements to improve missile lethality.
  • Familiarity with global missile defense-related programs and initiatives.
  • Understanding of global technology control and nonproliferation efforts associated with missiles.
  • Experience assessing technical improvements related to advanced weapons systems.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community directives and standards.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses to military and government representatives.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree or technical training related to aerospace or WMD.
  • Familiarity with state NBC programs and strategic weapons developments.
  • Understanding of the Defense Intelligence Enterprise and intelligence production centers.
  • Experience in devising and communicating methodological approaches to complex problems.
  • Familiarity with missile and S&T analytic centers within DOD and IC.
