About the position

The Level 3 Electrical Engineer position is primarily focused on the design and technical systems for small to medium-sized projects, guiding them from the initial schematics phase through to construction administration. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various electrical engineering disciplines, including power distribution, lighting and controls, fire alarm systems, and energy conservation practices. The engineer will be responsible for the documentation process throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that all aspects of the design meet the necessary standards and specifications. In this role, the Level 3 Electrical Engineer will function as the Project Discipline Team Leader for assigned projects, overseeing the work of project team members within their discipline. This includes preparing and monitoring project status reports, conducting material and product research, and ensuring that all code research is documented appropriately. The engineer will also be expected to attend project meetings, interface with other discipline leaders, and review documentation during the bidding and construction phases to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements. The position requires a proactive approach to mentoring junior staff, delegating work assignments, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The engineer must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to motivate others while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency. Additionally, the role demands a detail-oriented mindset, self-motivation, and the flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and technical systems for small to medium-sized projects from schematics through construction administration.
  • Oversee project team members within the electrical discipline.
  • Prepare and monitor project status reports.
  • Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
  • Prepare and document required code research for projects.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary.
  • Interface with other Project Discipline Team Leaders.
  • Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
  • Monitor staff to produce quality architectural and engineering services within a project team concept.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and licensure required.
  • Mission Critical experience required.
  • Specification format and content writing experience required.
  • Experience with short circuit and coordination analysis studies.
  • Minimum four years' experience in the A/E industry preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor staff in engineering skills and document preparation.
  • Proficient in computer and CADD (BIM/Revit) applications.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.
