About the position

As a Mission Critical Project Manager at Diversified, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the scope, schedule, cost, and quality of projects, while also maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders involved. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, developing long-term relationships and managing their expectations throughout the project phases. Your role will require you to coordinate various activities, including project communications, scheduling, and task management for technicians, while also overseeing deliverables from engineering, CAD, and programming teams. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that systems integration projects are executed efficiently and effectively. You will spend a significant amount of your time managing projects and communicating with stakeholders, helping to improve established processes within Diversified. Your leadership will be crucial in providing clear direction and ownership for each project, ensuring that all activities are aligned with project goals and timelines. You will also be tasked with monitoring budgets, labor, equipment, and materials, while providing technical and administrative support to your team members. The complexity of the projects you will manage involves working with mission-critical customers, including commercial and government organizations that operate command and control facilities. These environments require a high level of care and support, as they run 24/7 and cannot tolerate downtime. You will need to navigate a complex set of variables, including system design, site conditions, and stakeholder expectations, all while maintaining a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Your decision-making authority will include taking full ownership of projects, managing financials, and ensuring client satisfaction, while also communicating effectively with stakeholders to manage decisions and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects from initiation to closing phases.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate project communications, scheduling, and task management for technicians.
  • Manage deliverables from engineering, CAD, and programming teams.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and on-budget completion of projects.
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and materials budgets.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to project team members.
  • Perform field verification of prospective work sites and document issues.
  • Coordinate all drawings and documentation between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate design reviews and coordinate system programming and final checkout of systems.
  • Contract with contractors and other trades as necessary.
  • Ensure quality and continuous improvement throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate training and turnover of projects to clients and service departments.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a project manager in commercial construction trades and settings.
  • Familiarity with audio/video systems installations.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical projects.
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is desired; AVIXA CTS certification is a plus.
