About the position

As a Mission Critical Project Manager at Diversified, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the scope, schedule, cost, and quality of projects, while also maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders involved. You will be the primary interface with clients, developing long-term relationships and managing their expectations throughout the project phases. Your role will require you to coordinate various activities, including project communications, scheduling, and task management for technicians, while also overseeing deliverables from engineering, CAD, and programming teams. In this position, you will be responsible for the successful completion of systems integration projects, which are critical to our clients' operations. You will need to demonstrate strong leadership and ownership of your projects, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the established goals and timelines. Your daily tasks will include monitoring project budgets, providing technical and administrative support to team members, and facilitating communication between all parties involved. You will also be tasked with resolving conflicts, conducting design reviews, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Given the complexity of the projects you will manage, particularly those involving mission-critical customers in commercial and government sectors, you will need to be adept at risk mitigation and proactive in your approach to project management. The ability to navigate the challenges of varying stakeholder expectations and site conditions will be essential. You will be expected to maintain a high level of awareness and emotional intelligence to effectively manage the dynamics of each project environment, balancing schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and client satisfaction. Your decision-making authority will be significant, as you will act as the single point of responsibility for your projects, ensuring that all aspects are managed effectively. You will be responsible for reporting on project financials, ensuring profitability, and maintaining timely communication with stakeholders regarding project status and decisions. This role requires a commitment to quality and continuous improvement, as well as a focus on training and turnover of projects to clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction of projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Oversee project communications, scheduling, and task management for technicians.
  • Manage deliverables from engineering, CAD, and programming teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong long-term relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate all activities associated with the timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Provide clear leadership and ownership for assigned projects.
  • Ensure appropriate and frequent communication between stakeholders.
  • Resolve conflicts and facilitate design reviews to assure proper documentation in the field.
  • Monitor project budgets, labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform field verification of prospective work sites and document issues.
  • Coordinate training and turnover of projects to clients and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a project manager in commercial construction trades and settings.
  • Familiarity with audio/video systems installations.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical projects.
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is desired; AVIXA CTS certification is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory and people management skills.
