About the position

P1 Construction is seeking an Electrical Construction Regional Project Manager for the Midwest area, reporting to the Lenexa, KS office. This role is crucial for managing electrical construction projects or assisting senior management on large hyper-scale projects in or around the Midwest. The successful candidate will manage the project's field staff, subcontractor performance, and vendor compliance, ensuring thorough understanding and compliance with contract documents, budgets, and safety, statutory, and legal requirements. The Project Manager will also be responsible for project coordination, scheduling, and construction, while monitoring project accounting and profitability. Maintaining constructive relationships and supportive communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, P1 staff, and immediate supervisors is essential. The role requires leading subordinates as defined by P1's leadership model and operating principles, directly contributing to the company's success by effectively managing construction projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. This position entails a significant amount of travel, especially when assigned to out-of-area jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical construction projects or assist senior management on large hyper-scale projects in the Midwest.
  • Manage the project's field staff, subcontractor performance, and vendor compliance.
  • Understand and comply with contract documents, budgets, and safety, statutory, and legal compliance.
  • Manage project coordination, scheduling, and construction.
  • Monitor project accounting and profitability.
  • Maintain constructive relationships and supportive communications with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, P1 staff, and immediate supervisor.
  • Lead subordinates as defined by P1's leadership model and operating principles.
  • Contribute to the success of the company by effectively managing construction projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction or electrical engineering related discipline, OR at least five years of electrical construction field trade experience/training/education, OR equivalent combination of the above.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Electrical Construction Project Manager on large construction projects, directly overseeing electrical construction work.
  • Experience in Mission Critical or Advanced Technologies construction projects is preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a well-maintained vehicle.

Nice-to-haves
