About the position

As a Mission Critical Project Manager at Diversified, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the scope, schedule, cost, and quality of projects, while also maintaining strong communication with all stakeholders involved. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, developing long-term relationships and managing their expectations throughout the project phases. Your daily activities will include project communications, scheduling, task management for technicians, and overseeing deliverables from engineering and programming teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that systems integration projects are executed efficiently, with a focus on achieving high customer satisfaction. In this role, you will also be tasked with improving established processes within Diversified, coordinating all activities related to project completion, and providing support to team members as needed. You will monitor project budgets, labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring that all aspects of the project are aligned with client expectations and company standards. The complexity of the projects you will manage includes working with mission-critical customers in commercial and government sectors, where operations run 24/7 and require meticulous planning to avoid downtime. Your ability to navigate the complexities of system design, site conditions, and stakeholder expectations will be crucial to your success. You will take full ownership of your projects, acting as the single point of responsibility and accountability. This includes managing project financials, ensuring timely billings, and communicating effectively with stakeholders to facilitate decision-making. The role demands a high level of emotional intelligence, awareness, and people management skills, as you will be constantly balancing schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and client satisfaction. Additionally, you will be required to comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment, especially when working on construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects from initiation to closing phases.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including clients and team members.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure timely, accurate, and on-budget completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, monitoring labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Facilitate and direct design reviews and ensure proper documentation in the field.
  • Provide support and assistance to team members to help them succeed in their roles.
  • Resolve conflicts and ensure appropriate communication between stakeholders.
  • Conduct field verification of prospective work sites and document any issues.
  • Coordinate training and turnover of projects to clients and service departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Associates or equivalent experience accepted.
  • PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is desired.
  • 3+ years of experience as a project manager in commercial construction trades and settings.
  • Familiarity with audio/video systems installations and low voltage electrical projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
