About the position

As a Mission Hardware Systems Maintenance professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting and managing the successful completion of all tasks associated with assigned projects. Your primary responsibilities will include providing installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for information systems applications and related peripheral hardware. This position requires a strong understanding of both Unix and Windows hardware support, as well as the ability to effectively screen, refer, and diagnose internal inquiries and work requests related to the maintenance of personal computers and associated systems. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading computer hardware and software, ensuring that end-users receive the necessary software troubleshooting and support. You will also coordinate the development of deliverables and products, participate in the administration of email systems, and maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. Your ability to track project studies, plans, action items, and other related tasks will be essential for the successful execution of your responsibilities. Additionally, you may be required to participate in special projects as needed, contributing your expertise to various initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage the successful completion of all tasks in assigned projects.
  • Provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for information systems applications and related peripheral hardware.
  • Screen, refer, and diagnose internal inquiries and work requests related to the maintenance of personal computers and related systems.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
  • Provide end-user software troubleshooting and support.
  • Coordinate the development of deliverables and products.
  • Participate in the administration of email systems.
  • Track project studies, plans, action items, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

Requirements

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience) in a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.
  • 1+ years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph Required.
  • Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification; either CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security+ CE is preferred.
  • Must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six (6) months of Hire Date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of remote VoIP administration.
  • Experience with conferencing system configuration.
  • Knowledge of CAT5, CAT6, and copper termination requirements.
  • Familiarity with telephone testing and installation equipment.
