About the position

The Mission Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mission systems interfaces to enhance user experiences. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex engineering problems and applying expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) to improve system functionality and performance. The engineer will contribute to the full product life cycle of avionics subsystems, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, and conducting system tests to ensure reliability and effectiveness in mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mission systems interfaces for optimal user experience.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex engineering problems.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Conduct system tests and support flight tests for mission systems.
• Integrate hardware and software components to ensure system functionality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Applied Sciences.
• Experience in requirements development and system design, including Functional System Diagrams, FACE, Data Modelling, SysML, DOORS, and ICD/IRD/IDD.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), preferably using Cameo.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the Secret level.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cross-functional teams (Hardware, Software, Integration/Test).
• Familiarity with Agile processes.
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence for project management.
• Knowledge of system verification, integration, and test documentation.
