About the position

The Associate Product Line Manager (APLM) at Mitchell & Ness plays a crucial role in supporting the creation of consumer products for specific brands or leagues, focusing on custom apparel. This position collaborates with various teams, including merchandising, product development, and design, to translate consumer insights into actionable plans that drive seasonal revenue, margin, and inventory goals. The APLM is also responsible for analytical and process improvements to enhance sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate information across all product platforms including forecasts, pricing, product IDs, and imaging.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on company proprietary systems, partnering with merchandising operations.
  • Support Product Line Managers with line planning and cross-matrix accountabilities at the channel, league, or assortment level, focusing on content quality.
  • Create and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the product management process and calendar.
  • Assist in maximizing existing programs and developing new business opportunities with the Product Management team and cross-matrix partners.
  • Provide regular communication to relevant cross-functional teams regarding line development, seasonal performance, changes in forecast, and product maintenance.
  • Assist with relationship and product management of sublicensees and external partners.
  • Travel to Fanatics facilities, vendors, accounts, and league reviews as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Merchandising, or equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in retail or wholesale is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, adapt to change, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Positive and professional attitude towards team, vendors, and clients.
  • Product merchandising/creation experience of 0-2 years.
  • Strong understanding of merchandising retail math and financial skills.
  • Moderate experience with fashion, color, and trend analysis.
  • Understanding of the product creation process is a plus.
  • Moderate skill level in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as familiarity with data warehouses and database management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Sports fan is a plus.
