About The Position

The Mixing Operator position at Griffith Foods is responsible for the addition of raw materials to a blender to produce high-quality finished food products. This role involves ensuring accurate counts of materials, following manufacturing sequences, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work areas. The operator plays a crucial role in the production process, adhering to safety and quality standards while working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred; three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate with individuals and small groups.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to interpret graphs.
• Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX software.
• Must complete the initial Alsip Mixer Operator Training orientation checklist and all tasks successfully as documented.

Responsibilities

• Verify and assure accurate counts of raw materials needed to produce a blended product.
• Add raw materials to the blender following the manufacturing sequence on the formula.
• Discharge blended product from the blender using the prescribed screen size.
• Sample blended product for quality assurance.
• Fill out daily schedule control to document production, quality, and performance.
• Clean and sanitize the blender, sifter, and all support equipment.
• Sanitize work station and surrounding areas.
• Dispose of trash and garbage dumpsters.
• Adhere to all department procedures and GMP's.
• Maintain all performance standards.
