The role of Machine Learning Engineer in the Search team is pivotal in developing robust, effective cross-product search functionalities that support the productivity and collaboration of our millions of users worldwide. As Figma's customer base continues to grow and diversify, the need for advanced search relevance becomes increasingly critical. This position offers the opportunity to lead search quality efforts through the early phases of machine learning and beyond, shaping the future of search at Figma. In this full-time role, which can be performed from one of our US hubs or remotely, you will spearhead the development of early-phase machine learning systems aimed at improving the search experience for Figma users. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including innovative software engineers, product managers, and data scientists, to set the future direction of search quality at Figma. Your responsibilities will include breaking down complex search relevance problems into actionable engineering strategies, utilizing machine learning, data analysis, and experimental design to drive improvements. Additionally, you will provide mentorship to team members, champion best practices in data and machine learning, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Your role will also involve contributing to the growth of the team by enhancing the hiring process and recruiting strong machine learning talent.
