About the position

Located in Miami Valley Hospital North (Englewood, OH), this part-time position requires candidates to work the evening shift from 2:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role demands a strong educational background in medical laboratory science, along with certification and a keen attention to detail. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a demanding laboratory environment while prioritizing safety and accuracy. The position involves performing laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, adhering to established protocols, and ensuring compliance with safety and health policies. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting daily maintenance and quality control on laboratory equipment and reagents, identifying and troubleshooting any issues that arise with instruments, reagents, test results, or supplies. You will also be tasked with recording and reporting test results accurately and promptly, utilizing computer systems as necessary. Addressing client inquiries and issues in a professional manner, while adhering to departmental policies, is also a key responsibility. Additionally, you will assist in training new employees and students, ensuring they understand the protocols and safety measures in place. Candidates must possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MLS/CLS) or an equivalent field, and ASCP certification or eligibility is required. The position also requires compliance with corporate integrity and safety policies, as well as the completion of necessary safety training and health evaluations.

Requirements
