About the position
Are you looking for a career as a MLT II (Registered)? Look no further than BJC! As a Registered Medical Lab Technician at BJC Healthcare, you play a crucial role in the delivery of high-quality patient care. Join our Laboratory-Blood Bank team to be an integral part of delivering precise and reliable laboratory results that impact patient outcomes positively. Training for this position will be on days and will last 4-6 weeks. The position involves 7 on 7 off Nights with 10 hour shifts. A $10,000 Sign-On-Bonus is also eligible.
Responsibilities
- Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
- Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
- Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
- Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
- Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
- Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
- Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Science/related
- Licensed and Certified in either ASCP, AMT, AAB or equivalent or eligible
