About the position

Join Essentia Health's dedicated team as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), where our mission is to make a healthy difference in people's lives. This role involves performing and reporting laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis and management of diseases, while also participating in quality assurance and customer service. Responsibilities

• Perform and report tests of all complexity levels on patients of all ages.
• Assist with routine screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases and injuries.
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring.
• Conduct instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Exhibit problem-solving skills.
• Process specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Provide customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Graduate of an associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent qualifications for MLT.
• Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent for MLS.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP) or equivalent required within one year for MLT.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) required within one year for MLS.
• 2 years of full-time lab experience and certification as an MLS (ASCP) for MLS candidates.
