About the position

The Mobile App Developer will provide technical expertise for a mission-critical program aimed at developing, modernizing, enhancing, operating, and maintaining services for DHS/CBP systems. This role requires a blend of communication skills and technical troubleshooting to support application issues and implement preventative measures. The developer will collaborate on the architecture, design, build, delivery, and enhancement of scalable, real-time systems, while participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems.
• Participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing.
• Support application issues and apply preventative measures.
• Exercise judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and resource constraints.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
• At least 5 years' experience with Mobile development (Android/iOS experience).
• Experience in both Front-end Mobile and Back-end RESTFUL API development.
• Experience in development of JAVA, Node JS applications.
• Experience with both NoSQL and SQL databases.
• Strong application testing discipline.
• Experience with Google's Flutter engine and Google's Dart language.
• Proficiency in Postgres, Springboot, SQL, Kafka, MySQL, Struts, Hibernate, Java, JSF, Swing, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular/React.
• Knowledge of software design patterns.
• Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira).
• Proficiency with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with DevOps frameworks.
