About the position

The Mobile App Product Owner at Allstate will play a crucial role in developing and executing mobile initiatives and projects that align with the company's business strategies. This position focuses primarily on the product lifecycle of Allstate branded mobile applications and other emerging mobile technologies. The Mobile App Product Owner will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and development of mobile applications, which includes creating and prioritizing the product backlog, writing user stories, and ensuring acceptance criteria are met to deliver business value through mobile app features and improvements. In addition to these responsibilities, the Mobile App Product Owner will serve as a key resource within the company for mobile engagement, app development, and mobile marketing. They will conduct product demonstrations, manage analytics and performance reporting, and partner with Product Managers to create and manage a consumer-focused mobile product roadmap. This roadmap will be adjusted strategically based on consumer needs, resource allocation, technology delivery, and corporate priorities. The role also involves participating in agile scrum team meetings, collaborating with various stakeholders including application developers, architects, scrum masters, business analysts, user experience architects, user acceptance testers, and quality assurance testers to ensure that the mobile app code aligns with Allstate's business objectives. The Mobile App Product Owner will lead initiatives to release new features and enhancements in the Mobile App, ensuring that the product evolves in response to user feedback and market trends. This position is integral to the success of Allstate's mobile strategy and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation in mobile technology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct product demonstrations to showcase mobile app features and updates.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement and grooming sessions to ensure clarity and prioritization of tasks.
  • Lead sprint retrospectives to evaluate team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in sprint and program increments planning sessions to align on project goals and timelines.
  • Manage analytics and performance reporting to track the success of mobile initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to create and manage a consumer-focused mobile product roadmap.
  • Adjust the mobile product roadmap based on consumer needs, resource allocation, and corporate priorities.
  • Conduct sprint reviews to assess completed work and gather feedback from stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups to discuss progress and address any blockers.
  • Represent the mobile product team in agile scrum meetings, collaborating with various roles to deliver mobile app code that meets business objectives.
  • Lead initiatives to release new features and enhancements in the Mobile App.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • 2 or more years of experience in a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with Agile Methodology and Scrum Software Development
  • Proficiency in mobile applications and mobile development
  • Strong skills in backlog prioritization and refinement
  • Experience in project management and teamwork
  • Knowledge of mobile marketing and mobile technologies
