About the position

The Mobile Application Developer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the MyCap mobile application, which captures patient-reported outcomes. This role involves working with the Flutter cross-platform framework and collaborating with stakeholders to define specifications and integrate systems. The developer will also contribute to planning and developing new functionalities and interactions within the app and the REDCap ecosystem, ensuring the software is clean, maintainable, and user-friendly.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the full mobile application development lifecycle including architecture, implementation, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement.
  • Apply and disseminate contemporary best practices for cross-platform mobile development.
  • Collaborate with product owners to design features and user experiences that meet the unique needs of clinical research.
  • Work with web application teams on features and APIs to support mobile integrations.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience in mobile application development.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience with Flutter cross-platform development.
  • Strong experience with object-oriented programming.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience with git-based version control systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in API programming in PHP.
  • Experience with SQL databases and query optimization.
  • Experience in native (Android & iOS) mobile application development.
  • Experience with Google Firebase and Material Design.
