About the position

The Mobile Application Developer position at Leidos involves providing technical expertise for a mission-critical program aimed at developing, modernizing, enhancing, operating, and maintaining services for DHS/CBP systems. The role requires a blend of communication skills and hands-on technical troubleshooting to support application issues and implement preventative measures. The developer will work collaboratively to design, build, and enhance scalable, real-time systems, participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance mobile applications for DHS/CBP systems.
  • Participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
  • Determine and recommend the best designs based on customer business objectives and resource constraints.
  • Support application issues and apply preventative measures.
  • Ensure strong application testing discipline.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with 10 years of prior relevant experience; or 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • At least 3 years experience with Mobile Application Development for both Android & iOS.
  • Experience in both Front-end Mobile and Back-end RESTFUL API development.
  • Experience in development of JAVA and Node JS applications.
  • Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases.
  • Strong application testing discipline.
  • Experience with Google's Flutter engine and Dart language.
  • Proficiency in Postgres, Springboot, SQL, Kafka, MySQL, Struts, Hibernate, Java, JSF, Swing, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular/React.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns.
  • Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira).
  • Proficiency with Agile practices and service-oriented environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with DevOps frameworks.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to maintain a CBP Background Investigation.
