About the position

The Mobile Application Development Technical Lead at Leidos is a pivotal role responsible for leading a team of developers and designers to create a mobile intelligence delivery application for the Intelligence Community. This position focuses on modernizing legacy solutions and enhancing capabilities for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise, utilizing both front-end and back-end technologies. The role requires a hands-on approach to development, collaboration with various stakeholders, and adherence to security measures, ensuring the application meets the needs of executive leadership and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of application developers, designers, and task leaders.
  • Create a system that supports the delivery of intelligence via platform-agnostic digital tablets.
  • Collaborate with government leads and stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and timelines.
  • Ensure developed capabilities are compatible with the network operating environment and implement security measures.
  • Prioritize availability, reliability, and scalability of the system as it expands to a larger customer base.
  • Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
  • Utilize back-end technologies to develop a secure and efficient architecture.
  • Ensure system compatibility with other customer applications.
  • Implement best practices for software development, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
  • Monitor project progress, address technical challenges, and provide regular updates to program managers.
  • Lead the application development team in adopting Agile methodologies for iterative development.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to embed security measures into the development process.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in code quality.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a Polygraph.
  • BS in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent experience with 10+ years in software development or related field; or 8+ years with a master's degree.
  • Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Object Notation.
  • Experience with mobile development using Swift, Java, or equivalent cross-platform technologies.
  • Experience with database design and development (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and familiarity with search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr).
  • Experience overseeing application development and presenting updates to government leads and partners.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating issues that pose a risk to project priorities.
