About the position

The Mobile Application Development Technical Lead at Leidos is a pivotal role responsible for leading a team of developers and designers to create a mobile intelligence delivery application for the Intelligence Community. This position focuses on modernizing legacy solutions by developing a platform that enhances intelligence compilation and collaboration, utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to ensure the successful delivery of a secure, scalable, and user-friendly application that meets the needs of high-level government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of application developers, designers, and task leaders.
• Conduct technical and industrial research to identify advantageous approaches for application replacement.
• Create a system for delivering intelligence via platform-agnostic digital tablets.
• Collaborate with government leads and stakeholders to define project requirements, goals, and timelines.
• Ensure developed capabilities are compatible with the network operating environment and implement security measures.
• Prioritize system availability, reliability, and scalability as the system expands.
• Develop responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
• Utilize back-end technologies to develop a secure and efficient architecture.
• Ensure system compatibility with other customer applications.
• Implement best practices for software development, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
• Monitor project progress, address technical challenges, and provide updates to program managers.
• Facilitate Agile methodologies for iterative development and timely feature delivery.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity teams to embed security measures into the development process.
• Advocate for best practices in code quality and conduct regular code reviews.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a Polygraph.
• BS in software engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent experience with 10+ years in software development or related field; or 8+ years with a master's degree.
• Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Object Notation.
• Experience with mobile development using Swift, Java, or equivalent cross-platform technologies.
• Experience with database design and development (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and familiarity with search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr).
• Experience overseeing application development and presenting updates to government leads and partners.
• Experience in identifying and mitigating issues that pose a risk to project priorities.
