About the position
The Mobile Building Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment in a commercial property setting. This role involves troubleshooting, performing repairs, and ensuring the safety and functionality of various building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. The engineer will also respond to emergency situations, conduct inspections, and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems including machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and HVAC.
- Clean, lubricate, and service a variety of pumps, valves, and mechanical devices.
- Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles and door hardware.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate maintenance operations for upgrades and savings opportunities.
- Inspect buildings and grounds for unsafe conditions and preventative maintenance needs.
- Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems as assigned.
- Perform carpentry and snow removal when necessary.
- Comply with applicable codes and regulations related to building operations.
- Use technology such as smartphones and building automation systems effectively.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of related experience in a commercial property setting.
- Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
