About the position
The Mobile Crisis Management Behavioral Technician plays a crucial role in providing psychosocial evaluation, crisis intervention, and case management services in a high-intensity clinical environment. This position requires independent decision-making and the ability to assist individuals in crisis across various community settings. The technician will work closely with consumers to develop and implement recovery plans, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources for their mental health and substance use challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychosocial evaluation and assessment services to consumers in crisis.
- Assist with crisis interventions and behavioral support strategies.
- Develop and implement relapse prevention and disease management strategies.
- Participate in the development and ongoing revision of the Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
- Communicate beneficiary progress and the effectiveness of interventions to the team leader.
- Educate and advocate for consumers regarding their rights and available services.
- Support consumers in maintaining stable housing and improving independent living skills.
- Assist clients in accessing education and employment opportunities.
- Help consumers utilize crisis plans and provide pre-crisis support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with serious mental illness or substance addiction, preferably five years of life experience.
- Peer Support Certification required for Peer Support role.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or a related field required for Qualified Professional (QP) role.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in crisis intervention services.
- Certification in mental health first aid or similar training.
