About the position

The Mobile Crisis Master's Level Placement Specialist plays a crucial role in providing immediate support to individuals experiencing psychiatric emergencies. This position involves conducting face-to-face assessments, facilitating referrals to necessary services, and ensuring follow-up care for clients. The specialist is expected to work collaboratively within a crisis team, maintain professionalism, and provide 24/7 coverage to meet the needs of clients in crisis.

Responsibilities

• Participates as an active member of the crisis team, responding to calls and communicating with team leaders.
• Completes documentation of client care in compliance with standards before the end of each shift.
• Provides face-to-face crisis assessments 24/7, ensuring clients are seen within a two-hour timeframe when possible.
• Acts as a liaison with community agencies and families to ensure appropriate care for clients.
• Determines the appropriate location for assessments and spends adequate time with clients to assess their needs.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in a health-related field such as counseling, psychology, social work, or sociology.
• Experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or co-occurring diagnoses.
• Coursework or experience in cultural diversity, human development, and crisis intervention.
• Ability to implement verbal and physical de-escalation techniques.

Nice-to-haves
