About the position

The Mobile Crisis Responder position at New Horizons involves providing immediate crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises across multiple counties. The role focuses on conducting emergency mental health screenings, offering appropriate interventions, and ensuring follow-up support to stabilize clients after acute interventions. This position is essential in improving the mental health landscape in the community by preventing more restrictive placements and providing compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts emergency mental health screenings for new and existing clients in the community
  • Provides emergency interventions and appropriate dispositions for assigned clients
  • Searches for client MR#s/Assigns new MR#s as necessary
  • Enters data into MRT records including Agency Responses, Response Locations, Follow-Up Surveys, and Quarterly Outcomes
  • Documents all emergency interventions in writing, including aftercare, safety plans, and referrals
  • Administers written documentation for services rendered in accordance with the Agency's standards.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in psychology, social work or mental health counseling
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a mental health related field
  • Complete a course in emergency screening prior to or within three months of assuming emergency screening responsibilities.
