The Mobile Dental Assistant position at 360care involves providing essential dental care services to patients in long-term care facilities. This role is crucial in assisting physicians with dental procedures and ensuring that all clinical records and charts are accurately maintained through electronic medical records. The Mobile Dental Assistant will be responsible for the care and cleaning of medical equipment, ensuring that all tools are in optimal working condition, and troubleshooting any equipment issues that may arise. The position requires a high level of customer service, as the assistant will interact with patients, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure a positive experience for all involved. In this role, the Mobile Dental Assistant will assist the dentist with patient care in a prompt and courteous manner, reviewing and verifying clinical records and medical histories. The assistant will efficiently manage patient flow during facility visits, which may include pushing wheelchairs and ensuring that all dental procedures are conducted smoothly. Daily responsibilities also include balancing and generating production reports, accurately posting dental charges, and maintaining an inventory of dental supplies. The assistant will be expected to provide education to patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines. The position requires travel up to 100% of the time, as the Mobile Dental Assistant will be visiting various long-term care facilities. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, able to multitask, and possess strong communication skills. The Mobile Dental Assistant will also be expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all compliance program components, including training and reporting any suspected violations of law or company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist doctor with patient care in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Review, verify, and maintain current and accurate clinical records, charts, and medical history through electronic medical records.
  • Ensure integrity of all documentation and update patient odontogram for every patient encounter.
  • Efficiently pass instruments and supplies to the dentist for appropriate care being rendered.
  • Maintain the treatment area by evacuation, washing, isolating, drying, and illuminating properly.
  • Provide daily feedback and work in conjunction with branch office to optimize dental schedule and reporting.
  • Manage patient flow during facility visits and may push wheelchair.
  • Balance and generate daily production reports and provide to dentist upon departure.
  • Accurately post dental charges to the appropriate provider in a timely fashion.
  • Care for and clean medical equipment, troubleshooting equipment issues and reporting to proper resources.
  • Maintain and schedule planned maintenance for dental equipment.
  • Clean up service area used in facility and inspect vehicle's exterior and interior appearance.
  • Perform basic support tasks like routine oil changes, refueling the vehicle, and changing brake lights.
  • Maintain dental supplies inventory by auditing stock and placing orders for needed supplies.
  • Prepare supplies with minimum waste or need for duplication.
  • Ensure all dental equipment is working properly by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Assist dentist in diagnosis by exposing and processing digital dental radiographs.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with all patients, family members, providers, faculty, and staff.
  • Provide timely responses to patient inquiries and document conversations in the EMR.

Requirements

  • High School education or GED.
  • Medical / Dental Assistant experience preferred.
  • Must have own reliable transportation, good driving record, and car insurance.
  • Must have completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination is preferred.
  • Must have state radiation license or certificate.
  • Good computer skills and medical terminology experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to follow directions and listen to needs of patients and doctors.

  • Experience in a dental office setting.
