About the position

The Mobile Dental Clinic Driver at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC is responsible for coordinating and delivering services to mobile dental clinic sites. This full-time, fixed-term position involves driving university vehicles, transporting equipment and staff, and performing various clinical and administrative duties to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. The role is essential in supporting community oral health programs and maintaining the operational integrity of mobile clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Drives university vehicles and transports equipment and staff to clinic sites as needed.
  • Participates in vehicle set ups and tear downs to prepare for each move.
  • Coordinates and schedules locations and facility needs for remote clinics.
  • Ensures cleanings for vehicles, inside and out.
  • Performs administrative duties when at home site.
  • Arranges repair and/or replacement of clinic equipment and maintenance of vehicles.
  • Maintains, orders, and keeps accurate inventories of clinic and office supplies.
  • Participates in maintaining accuracy and integrity of clinical documents including patient records.
  • Engages in data entry of clinical activities and provides reports.
  • Opens and closes vehicles each day at away sites, ensuring operation of generators and troubleshooting equipment problems.
  • Assists with administrative support duties including patient registration, scheduling, and problem resolution.
  • Prepares, maintains, and distributes adequate supplies of patient materials.
  • Learns about dental instrument management & sterilization through in-house training.
  • Dispenses dental materials and instruments, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and preps treatment areas as required.
  • Performs transportation, set up, and operational support for other Community Health Programs such as health fairs and local clinic operations.
  • Ensures compliance with all university and state policies and procedures, including HIPAA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Class A license required.
  • Current CPR and BLS certification required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment.
