The Mobile Dental Clinic Operator (Operator) plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of the Mobile Dental Clinic, which provides essential dental services to children in the community. This part-time position requires the Operator to drive the 39-foot mobile dental clinic to various scheduled locations within the designated service area, typically operating Monday through Friday, although specific days may vary based on program needs. The Operator is responsible for the set-up and take-down of the vehicle at each site, ensuring that all necessary equipment is in place and operational for the dental staff to provide services. In addition to driving, the Operator must perform various operational tasks, including cleaning and organizing the clinic, managing supplies, and ensuring the vehicle is maintained in good working order. This includes tasks such as purchasing gas, checking fire safety equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the mobile clinic. The Operator will also be responsible for communicating effectively with school staff, dental staff, students, and parents, providing information about procedures and answering any questions that may arise. The role also encompasses an office component, where the Operator will file and organize paperwork, distribute dental care kits, and manage inventory. The Operator must demonstrate good problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing mechanical issues with the mobile clinic and knowing when to contact for repairs. This position is vital for the smooth operation of the Mobile Dental Clinic and requires a commitment to providing quality service to the community.
