About the position

Best Buy is looking for innovative and technically curious mobile developers to enhance their e-commerce platform through mobile applications. This role involves designing, building, testing, and maintaining mobile application features and backend systems, contributing to the architecture and development of mobile and web features, and collaborating with various teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, release, and maintain mobile application features and backend systems.
  • Contribute to the architecture and development of mobile application and web features.
  • Use modern tools and technologies consistent with the technology stack: native mobile, React Native, Java, AWS.
  • Interact with peer developers, UX, Product Management, Design, QA, and other engineering groups.
  • Articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop products with a strong focus on design and user experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Full Stack Experience
  • Mobile development experience in iOS, Android, or React Native
  • Javascript experience, ideally in the React family
  • Experience with Java/Spring/Maven and understanding of object-oriented design
  • Solid technical communication skills with business partners and engineering teams
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative and practicing strong ownership
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Experience with bug tracking software such as Jira or ClearQuest
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure, ideally AWS

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to scale, performance, security, and usability
  • Experience with source control systems, including Git & GitHub
  • Familiarity with Agile software development
  • Experience in large enterprise and/or retail environments
