About the position
The Mobile Developer position at Modis is a 6-month contract role based in San Francisco, CA, aimed at experienced developers with a strong background in mobile application development. The role requires proficiency in various programming languages and frameworks, as well as the ability to work in an Agile environment and collaborate with different departments on new deployments.
Responsibilities
- Develop mobile web applications for Android and iPad platforms.
- Interface with different departments regarding new deployments.
- Participate in Agile development processes.
- Performance tuning of web applications.
- Develop complex multi-layer applications and ensure high availability of mission-critical web applications.
- Profile web applications for optimization.
- Develop multi-threaded applications interfacing with other systems.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in mobile development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, JEE, XML, HTML4/5, Ajax, Javascript, C#, and other OOP languages.
- Experience in mobile web applications development on Android or iPad platforms.
- Knowledge of mobile application protocols and technologies such as LTE, GSM, and CDMA.
- Strong understanding of software development life-cycle methodologies.
- Experience with Spring MVC framework.
- Experience in developing rich UI using JQuery/GWT or any UI framework.
- Experience in developing template-based UI.
- Experience in development of complex multi-layer applications.
- Experience with XML and XSLT transformation.
- Current knowledge of application servers such as IBM Websphere and/or Apache HTTP servers.
- Excellent object-oriented design and programming skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in development of call center web applications is a plus.
- Experience with Rational IDE tools like RSA and RAD is a plus.
- Experience in PL/SQL is a plus.
- Experience with ACCURev version control systems is a plus.
