About the position

The Mobile Developer position at BCforward is a remote contract role focused on developing Android applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile development, particularly with Kotlin and Java, and will be responsible for the full mobile development life cycle, including working with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries. This role offers the potential for long-term engagement beyond the initial six-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Utilize Android SDK and Android Studio to create high-quality mobile applications.
• Implement Android Jetpack components and ensure adherence to Google Android design principles.
• Work with remote data via REST and JSON to connect applications to back-end services.
• Integrate third-party libraries and APIs into mobile applications.
• Participate in the full mobile development life cycle, from concept to deployment.
• Utilize CI/CD tools for automated testing and deployment processes.
• Apply UI/UX design principles to enhance user experience in mobile applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 12+ years of experience in mobile development with Kotlin and Java.
• Strong experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Google Android design principles.
• Experience with Android Jetpack components and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools for automated testing and deployment.
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles for mobile development.
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Strong development experience in defining requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
