About the position

The Mobile Developer position at BCforward is a contract role focused on developing Android applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile development, particularly with Kotlin and Java, and will be responsible for the full mobile development life cycle, including working with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries. This role is remote and offers the potential for long-term engagement beyond the initial six-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Utilize Android SDK and Android Studio to create high-quality mobile applications.
• Implement Android Jetpack components to enhance app functionality.
• Work with remote data via REST and JSON to integrate backend services.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure optimal user experience.
• Utilize CI/CD tools for automated testing and deployment processes.
• Stay updated with the latest Android updates and features.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 12+ years of experience in mobile development with Kotlin and Java.
• Proficient in Android SDK, Android Studio, and Google Android design principles.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Experience with CI/CD tools for automated testing and deployment.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape and emerging technologies.
• Strong development experience in defining requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
