About the position

DMI is seeking a Mobile/eCommerce Developer to analyze, design, develop, and support complex mobile application development projects. The role involves evaluating customer requirements, interfacing with user departments, and resolving system-related issues. The developer will work on new mobile applications and enhancements to existing applications, ensuring compliance with approved standards and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, apply, and support complex mobile application development projects.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and provide effective solutions.
  • Interface with other offices and consult with user departments on system requirements.
  • Resolve problems and operating difficulties for current and future enhancements to WMATA's systems.
  • Participate in problem resolution related to system design and review.
  • Recommend approval of functional and technical design documents and enactment of systems, program enhancements, and updates of applications.
  • Analyze and evaluate system changes to determine feasibility, alternative solutions, and backup procedures.
  • Develop new mobile applications, upgrades, and enhancements to existing applications, ensuring compliance with approved standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of recent continuous Mobile/eCommerce application development experience.
  • Proficiency with native mobile application programming languages and frameworks for iOS and Android, including Swift, Java/Kotlin, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
  • Experience in developing APIs and integrating with mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of software development and project management methodologies.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment, including JIRA, Confluence, and GIT.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with MS VS 2019, Resharper, NCrunch, MS SQL Server Management Studio, JDeveloper, and Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Familiarity with ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework, and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of multi-tiered applications and clustered environments.
