About the position

The Mobile Device Test Engineer position at SGS North America Inc. is designed for a technical resource within the ArcLight Wireless team. This role involves independently or collaboratively testing mobile devices against specific customer specifications, ensuring quality and performance. The engineer will create test cases, analyze results, and support less experienced team members, contributing to the overall quality of the testing process.

Responsibilities

  • Execute customized test plans to verify performance of mobile devices.
  • Create test cases intended to stress the software and hardware of the device under test to find and analyze bugs.
  • Test devices as a consumer to identify quality-impacting issues.
  • Perform testing and engineering services for wireless clients in both stationary and mobile locations.
  • Report results clearly and concisely to management or customers.
  • Manage oneself and develop solutions to problems and issues.
  • Support less experienced engineers to assure overall team quality.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience with testing of consumer products or mobile devices.
  • Log file analysis and debugging experience.
  • Modem test experience.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools such as QXDM, ELT, QPST, QCAT.
  • Excellent PC experience, familiar with Windows Office, file management, and troubleshooting common Windows problems.
  • Experience with mobile operating systems such as Android and iOS.
  • Dependable, trustworthy, with good attention to detail, organized and efficient.
