About the position
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance, particularly with diesel engines and industrial equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and techniques.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems before they become serious.
- Repair or replace components such as hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs effectively.
- Maintain detailed records of service performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Collaborate with other service technicians to align on complex repair tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with an emphasis on diesel engines and industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, automotive diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Experience working with brands such as Caterpillar is a plus.
- Ability to operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
