Job Summary
Provides required maintenance including diagnosis and repair of Hogan tractor and truck equipment including the removal replacement and repair of any and all components of the tractor or truck
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides preventive maintenance and DOT inspections using the correct procedures and guidelines
Diagnoses and repairs tractors and trucks using well established policies and procedures as well as hand and power tools; this includes but is not limited to:
• Various types of braking systems
• Hydraulic systems
• Air disc systems
• Electrical systems
• Clutches
• Air conditioning and heating systems
• Instruments and gauges
• Steering mechanisms
• Wheels
• Tires
• Batteries
• Lift gate assemblies
• Auxiliary power units
Identifies parts and/or systems for repair; repairs or replaces as appropriate
Removes broken parts and replaces with new or reconditioned parts
Road tests vehicles to diagnose issues and ensure a safe operating vehicle
Uses hydraulic jacks to raise equipment
Inspect repair and maintain general trailer structural and suspension systems
Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
Use required testing instruments by attaching to equipment, read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions
Maintain accurate, updated preventative maintenance records
Other duties as required
Works outdoors in the elements
Requirements
CDL License Class A or B minimum; Class B CDL is required at time of hire
5 years of experience in trade as mechanic
Refrigeration License
EPA License as appropriate
High school education or GED
In-depth knowledge of all hand air and power tools required for this industry
Basic understanding and knowledge of welding and OxyAcetylene cutting procedures
Overall complete knowledge with comprehensive truck/trailer repair
Extensive diagnostic and repair knowledge including all areas of discipline manufactured with various OEs
Clean MVR
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Must be self-motivated
