About the position

The Mobile Maintenance Engineer at New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple locations. This role requires technical expertise in one craft area, such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations, while also being multi-skilled in other areas. The position is a 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion, offering a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and monitoring repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper function of systems.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
  • Perform cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.
  • Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2-4 years experience required
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification
  • Experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
  • Ability to analyze the operation of various Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC systems
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
