About the position

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic for its Oriskany Falls facility. The role involves ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while performing repair and maintenance on heavy equipment, including diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.
• Perform diesel and gasoline engine repairs.
• Diagnose and perform power train component repairs.
• Troubleshoot and perform hydraulic system repairs.
• Repair truck air brake systems and diagnose related problems.
• Repair suspension and steering systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
• Perform specialized component repairs such as hydraulic and mechanical drives.
• Make minor repairs including welding and cutting.
• Perform and track Scheduled Maintenance in accordance with Hanson's PM Program.
• Perform road calls in a safe, fast, and professional manner when necessary.
• Maintain good housekeeping and keep company records and complete work orders on equipment.
• Perform other duties and assignments as required.

Requirements

• Prefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of one year of experience repairing heavy equipment or vocational training.
• NYS Heavy Equipment Inspector's License or ability to obtain.
• Ability to write legibly to complete work orders and other required paperwork.
• Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals.
• Basic hand and air tools required to repair heavy duty trucks.
• 1 to 4 years of experience required.
