About the position

The Ascendancy Group is seeking a Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to provide technical, service, and training-based solutions focused on special operations forces and the Intelligence Community. This position requires a SECRET security clearance and is contingent upon contract award. The mechanic will be responsible for performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on government-owned construction and heavy equipment (CESE/MHE) as per OEM guidelines and NAVFAC P-300 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs identified during initial inspections.
  • Complete general maintenance and safety inspections on each piece of CESE/MHE every 120 calendar days.
  • Schedule all CESE/MHE equipment for service every 120 calendar days or sooner if high mileage is accumulated.
  • Reference the CESE/MHE inventory list for equipment details.
  • Pick up vehicles requiring service from designated locations and return them post-maintenance.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance at three levels: A, B, and C based on mileage or time.
  • Complete Level A maintenance every 120 days, including safety inspections and fluid changes.
  • Complete Level C maintenance annually, including detailed safety inspections and alignments.
  • Act as a liaison with the government regarding CESE/MHE access and maintenance schedules.
  • Be available during standard business hours to address issues and workflow.
  • Perform repairs on suspension, steering, electrical systems, brakes, fuel delivery, and more.
  • Repair electric and manual window mechanisms, vehicle locks, and incorporated electronics.
  • Demount and mount tires, balance wheel and tire assemblies, and perform tire repairs.
  • Conduct welding, metal forming, and minor body repairs.
  • Provide maintenance on ground support equipment (GSE) and return serviced equipment to designated areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as an OEM mechanic at an automotive dealership or commercial fleet.
  • Equivalent military experience is acceptable.
  • Possess an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in diesel engines and at least two other Heavy Truck Categories.
